Lorithar can tend to be a confusing place to those who are new, and even confuses some of us who have been around the whole time.
Lorithar is the world that various adoptables live in, and such, can be a very big place to try to get around in. We do hope to bring the confusing mess together into one explorable world, but in this endeavor we ask for your patience as world building is quite a daunting task.
Lorithar is in it's infancy as a world, but is developing towards the goal of bringing to the adoptables a full featured site for hosting and managing their adoptables. Where those adoptables can be easily tracked sorted and exchanged between people, with the minimum of muss and fuss for the artists.
Along with this goal is the dream of the site creator, of having an interactive community site, with fun activities, roleplaying and other nifty features that online addicts such as myself love so dearly.
The concept behind Lorithar is that it's coding is being built in a way that it's users will be able to determine the direction of it's developement, and what stories and plots unfold, and that the folks of Lorithar will be able to have direct impact on the site without ever having to learn the mess that is computer coding that makes it.
As of now.. any link on Lorithar.com that takes you to another domain or sub-domain automatically opens itself in a new tab or window. This feature is made so that you can tell that you are leaving the central Lorithar hub for another location. As the coding makes it's way into place, I hope to bring the need for travel beyond the Lorithar main to a minimum. Even my own adoptables are being hosted in Lyntin Grove for now, as the site here is still incomplete.
I realize that I am very poor at explaining things out.. I apologize for this, I am an artist, and a code-monkey.. not the best person for thorough explainations.. just plenty of dreams and ideas, and the drive to bring them into reality.
The dream of this site is always evolving, but the core of the dream remains the same.. Through my friends, my artwork, and my stubborness to learn, I will create a place for myself and my friends here on the web.. a place we can call our own.
I began as a simple artist, with a son who played a pet game on the web. He asked me to make a web page for his club on that site, as he was to young to understand the code at all. So I learned a bit and made them a nifty page. From their my friends asked of me to make various pages for various things, and I continued on with the randomness. Calaira was my first project of my own, a forums based roleplaying site. We had fun, but moved forward with the birth of the Lorithar Dragon adoptables. The simple drawing of a little dragon that I made became more popular than I had thought, and Lyntin Grove of the dragonkin was born.
We are here in the World of Lorithar today, with the dragonkin sitting in the grove next door.. just waiting for me to work quickly enough to have them move in, and other adoptables looking on and waiting to see what becomes of this strange new world.
With as much as real life must slow me down at times, and makes it so that I can not get things done as quickly of on time as I would hope.. this World will be built piece by piece, every time I have time. A dream is nothing more than a dream if all you do is think about it.. it takes work to make that dream real. This is a dream that I will not let go.. this is a dream that comes from the depths of my heart, letting go of it means letting go of a piece of myself. I can not do that.
I will see this dream built.. and I will watch it grow, no matter how long it takes me. Hopefully, one day, I will be able to sit back and look at this place with a contented sigh. Perhaps one day I will be able to smile at the knowledge that I have reached for a star and caught it.. that I chased a dream down until I made it real.
